چکیده

This paper summarizes the main current upgrade for Diffractive Physics at Tevatron. We describe both CDF (Collider Detector Facility) and DØ new devices that are being installed around the CDF and DØ area that will allow to produce new results in Diffractive Physics.

Diffraction at HERA, the Tevatron and the LHC

In these lectures, we present and discuss the most recent results on inclusive diffraction from the HERA and Tevatron colliders and give the prospects for the future at the LHC. Of special interest is the exclusive production of Higgs boson and heavy objects (W , top, stop pairs) which will require a better understanding of diffractive events and the link between ep and hadronic colliders, as w...

The Diffractive Interactions Working Group Summary

The basis for the investigations on diffraction is provided by a large and interesting set of new experimental data. Indeed, the phenomenon of “hard” diffraction, where a hard probe has been proven to be consistent with a diffractive process, came first as an experimental surprise both at hadronhadron (Spp̄S, 88’, Tevatron 95’) and lepton-hadron (HERA, 94’) colliders. It is thus to be remarked t...

Future Directions for QCD

New directions for exploring QCD at future high-energy colliders are sketched. These include jets within jets, BFKL dynamics, soft and hard diffraction, searches for disoriented chiral condensate, and doing a better job on minimum bias physics. The new experimental opportunities include electron-ion collisions at HERA, a new collider detector at the C0 region of the TeVatron, and the FELIX init...

Summary of Working Group B: Diffraction and Vector Mesons

The understanding of diffractive lepton-hadron or hadron-hadron interactions at high energies, where at least one of the beam hadrons stays intact and loses only a small fraction of its incident momentum, still represents one of the main challenges in Quantum Chromodynamics. Diffraction is being extensively studied both at HERA and the TEVATRON, and there is a growing community planning to cont...

Results on Diffraction at Hera and Tevatron

Recent results on diffraction at HERA, from the H1 and ZEUS Collaborations, and at Tevatron, from the CDF and D0 Collaborations, are reviewed. The measurement of the diffractive structure function at HERA is presented, and the pomeron structure function is extracted from QCD fits. Diffractive dijet production is given as an example analysis of the diffractive final state. These analysis are con...
